Syra Madad MD, Chief Biopreparedness officer, NYC Health + Hospitals
- A global leader, Chief Bio-Preparedness Officer at New York City Health + Hospitals, the nation’s largest municipal healthcare delivery system overseeing special pathogen preparedness and response efforts across the enterprise. She holds several prestigious leadership positions at academic institutions and research centers including Harvard, Johns Hopkins, was featured in Fortune’s prestigious “40 Under 40” list for most influential in healthcare, and serves on numerous editorial boards, councils, and federal advisory committees. Dr. Madad regularly authors, is frequently quoted in, and appears on major news outlets and featured in 4 leading documentaries, including the 2000 Emmy-nominated Netflix docuseries, Pandemic: How to Prevent an Outbreak.
Zenna Elhasan , General Counsel, The Kresge Foundation
- Zenna Elhasan is the general counsel and board secretary at The Kresge Foundation, where she manages legal affairs, supports policy development, governance, and oversees outside counsel relationships. She joined the foundation in 2018 after serving as corporation counsel for Wayne County, leading various legal areas and major projects. Previously, she was a judicial magistrate and director of probation for the 20th District Court in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, and a partner at Allen Brothers, serving as assistant city attorney for Hamtramck and Dearborn Heights. Zenna holds a biology degree from University of Michigan-Dearborn, a juris doctorate from University of Detroit Mercy School of Law, and participated in Harvard Business School’s Young American Leaders Program. She has received multiple accolades, including Crain’s Detroit Business Notable Women Lawyers and DBusiness magazine’s Top Corporate Counsel, and is active in several legal associations. Appointed by the Governor of Michigan, she serves on the Michigan Civil Rights Commission.
